Job summary

CoherentPlus in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is seeking a Technical QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications. You will plan, execute, and improve testing activities in collaboration with developers, BAs, and project teams to identify issues early and support successful releases.

The role requires designing test plans, executing manual and automated tests, documenting defects, and contributing to automation frameworks.

Qualifications

• Experience in software quality assurance involving both manual and automation testing.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and defect management processes.
• Ability to create clear and structured testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for software applications.
• Perform both manual and automated testing to validate application functionality, performance, and stability.
• Detect, document, prioritize, and monitor software defects until they are resolved.
• Collaborate with developers and project stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks to improve testing efficiency and reduce repetitive manual work.
• Review application requirements and technical specifications to identify potential quality risks during development.
• Prepare testing documentation, including test reports, defect summaries, release readiness reports, and quality metrics.
• Monitor software quality throughout the SDLC and recommend process improvements.
• Participate in sprint planning, requirement reviews, and product demonstrations to provide quality assurance input.
• Ensure software releases meet internal quality standards before deployment to production.
• Support root cause analysis for production issues and assist in verifying corrective actions.
• Research and evaluate new testing tools, methodologies, and best practices to enhance the QA process.
