MODE FAIR SDN BHD in Kuala Lumpur is hiring a hands-on QA Engineer for an on-site role. Fresh graduates with QA internships or under 1 year in automation/AI testing are welcome. You will work daily with AI agents like Claude Code to build, run, and maintain automated tests for web and mobile apps, while still performing manual QA and bug investigations.

The role emphasizes rapid deployment, CI/CD, and strict quality gates. On-site only at Sunway Tower, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Fresh graduate with QA internship or under 1 year in automation/AI testing.
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar AI coding tools.

Responsibilities

• Quality assurance & testing.
• Run manual and exploratory testing when needed.
• Design and execute smoke, black-box, end-to-end regression, API, load and performance tests.
• Validate system behaviour (cron jobs, WebSockets, background workers, integrations).
• Analyze results, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with engineers to improve reliability.
• Support test planning, execute cases, document results, and assist with UAT and post-go-live checks.
• Troubleshoot production issues and determine root causes.
• Maintain clear test plans, scripts, and result docs for traceability.
• AI-assisted test automation using Claude Code and related tools.
• Orchestrate AI agents for testing workflows; review and improve AI-generated cases.
• Identify gaps AI misses and cover them manually.
• Build and maintain automation with TypeScript, Playwright and Appium.
• Maintain API suites (Postman) and performance scripts (k6).
• Integrate tests into CI/CD quality gates for frequent shipping.

About the job

We are hiring a hands-on QA Engineer for our Kuala Lumpur office. This role suits fresh graduates with QA internship experience, or candidates with under 1 year in automation / AI-assisted testing.

You will work with AI coding and testing agents every day — especially Claude Code — to build, run and maintain automated tests for web and mobile apps. You still do real QA yourself: exploratory testing, investigating bugs, validating releases, and supporting quality through the delivery lifecycle.

We aim for daily deployments (and later multiple deploys per day) through solid CI/CD and automated testing. You will use AI heavily. This is not optional.

Full on-site, Monday–Friday at Sunway Tower, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur. No hybrid or remote.

Key responsibilities

Quality assurance & testing

Run manual and exploratory testing when needed

Design and execute smoke, black-box, end-to-end regression, API, load and performance tests

Validate harder system behaviour (cron jobs, WebSockets, background workers, event-driven flows, third-party integrations)

Analyse results, find bottlenecks, and work with engineers to improve reliability

Support test planning, execute cases, document results, and help with UAT and post-go-live checks

Help troubleshoot production issues and find root causes

Keep clear test plans, scripts and result docs for traceability

AI-assisted test automation

Use Claude Code and similar AI tools daily to generate, run and maintain automated tests

Orchestrate AI agents for testing workflows; review and improve AI-generated cases

Spot gaps that AI missed and cover them yourself

Build and maintain automation with TypeScript, Playwright and Appium

Maintain API suites (e.g. Postman) and performance scripts (e.g. k6)

Hook tests into CI/CD quality gates so we can ship often

Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent

Fresh graduate with internship in manual and/or automation testing, or under 1 year in automation / AI testing

Hands-on experience with Claude Code or comparable AI coding tools such as Cursor, Codex or Copilot. Chat-only use of ChatGPT is not enough — you must have used AI for real test or code work

Solid coding foundation in at least one modern language, with TypeScript or Java preferred

Familiar with software testing basics from internship or coursework

Eager to learn test planning, defect tracking, and web / mobile testing

Exposure to Playwright is a strong plus; willingness to learn Appium, Postman and k6

Own transport is an advantage for occasional client or site work

Willing to support critical releases outside standard hours when needed
