Job summary

A leading technology provider in Malaysia seeks an experienced procurement professional reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations. Reporting to: Senior Vice President- Operations

Responsibilities
  • Vendor Selection & Management: Identify & evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts & manage relationships with existing suppliers to ensure timely & reliable delivery of goods & services.
  • Cost Management: Analyze market trends, negotiate prices & implement cost‑saving strategies to optimize the procurement process & minimize expenses.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock, while also minimizing carrying costs.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that purchased goods & services meet quality standards & specifications, conducting inspections or audits when necessary.
  • Risk Management: Identify & mitigate potential risks associated with supply chain disruptions, changes in market conditions, or other factors that could impact procurement operations.
  • Budgeting: Develop & manage budgets related to procurement activities, track expenditures & report on financial performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments such as engineering, production, operations, finance & sales to understand their procurement needs & align purchasing strategies with overall business goals.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about industry needs, new products & emerging technologies that could impact the procurement process.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build & maintain positive relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration, communication & long‑term partnerships.
  • And any other job as assigned by the Management from time to time.
Qualifications
  • Education: Possess a degree in engineering or a related field to demonstrate a strong foundation in purchasing & procurement knowledge and practices.
  • Experience: Have a minimum of 5 years of experience, including in a PLC (Public Listed Company) and Manufacturing environment. This combination of experience will equip you with the necessary skills and understanding of purchasing & procurement in different contexts.
  • Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent writing and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment: Thrive in a dynamic and fast‑paced work environment, managing multiple priorities and time‑sensitive financial matters.
