A leading consultancy firm in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Purchasing Manager to handle daily purchasing operations. You will oversee the purchasing team, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure compliance with company policies. Candidates should possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related fields, with at least 5 years of purchasing experience. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Assist the Group Purchasing Manager in managing daily purchasing operations including sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Assist the Group Purchasing Manager in supervising the purchasing team and monitoring subordinates’ work progress. Assist the Group Purchasing Manager to review and approve purchase requests, quotations, and orders in line with company policies. Support in developing and implementing procurement strategies for cost efficiency. Monitor supplier performance and assist in vendor evaluation and selection. Identify areas for improvement in procurement processes and propose solutions. Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, procedures, and audit requirements. Coordinate with other departments to understand and meet operational needs. Coordinate with the Accounts Department to ensure timely and accurate payment processing. Prepare purchasing reports, cost analysis, and updates for management review.
