A local company in Sarawak is seeking an experienced Assistant Purchasing Manager to assist in daily purchasing operations, supervise the purchasing team, and implement procurement strategies. A minimum of 5 years in purchasing is required, preferably in a supervisory role. Candidates should possess excellent negotiation and communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities. Assist the Group Purchasing Manager in managing the daily purchasing operations including sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Assist the Group Purchasing Manager in supervising the purchasing team and monitoring subordinates’ work progress.
Assist the Group Purchasing Manager to review and approve purchase requests, quotations, and orders in line with company policies.
Support in developing and implementing procurement strategies for cost efficiency.
Monitor supplier performance and assist in vendor evaluation and selection.
Identify areas for improvement in procurement processes and propose solutions.
Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
Coordinate with other departments to understand and meet operational needs.
To coordinate with the Accounts Department to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
Prepare purchasing reports, cost analysis, and updates for management review.
Job Requirement:
Possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or any related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in purchasing, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills with great attention to detail.
Able to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
