A leading procurement company in Penang is seeking a procurement specialist. The ideal candidate will manage both indirect and direct material purchases, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with ISO standards. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in purchasing and strong negotiation skills are required. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is essential, with Mandarin being a plus. This is a full-time role available immediately.
Handle both Indirect & Direct material purchased.
Responsible for buying and expediting, inventory control.
Sourcing new and review existing goods to ensure goods remain competitive.
Sourcing for new supplier/vendor, brands and cost optimization.
Responsible for sourcing material & tools.
Liaison with existing supplier/vendor, negotiating prices and delivery.
Preparing purchase orders, expedite orders and delivery.
Maintaining accurate materials report.
Liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast, plan to meet, and to supply demand to relevant quality.
Payment terms and lead time negotiation, Purchase Order administration.
Other duties and assignments as instructed by superiors from time to time.
To comply to all requirements of ISO (inclusive of all standards approved by the Management) and to adhere to general safety practices, standard operating procedure, work instructions, policies and guidelines provided by the company.
Perform ad-hoc tasks assigned by Management as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Candidate must possess at least Higher Secondary/ STPM/ "A" Level/ Pre-U, Diploma/ Advanced/ Higher/ Graduate Diploma in Business Studies/ Administration/ Management or equivalent.
Min 3 years of working experience with preferably with working experience in purchasing.
Required Language(s): Bahasa Malaysia and English, preferable for candidate who can speak & write in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
Strong knowledge of raw materials (aluminum, steel, stainless steel etc.).
Strong knowledge in mechanical and electrical/electronic components.
Basic knowledge of interpreting bills of materials and technical drawings.
Experience working with international suppliers or manufacturers is highly preferred.
Strong negotiation skills with excellent supply chain capabilities.
Resourceful, organized and able to work independently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel.
Has good communication skills, self-motivated and team player.
Candidate must be willing to work in Bukit Minyak Area, Penang.
Full-time position are available immediately.
