Job summary

A prominent manufacturing company located in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a proactive Procurement Specialist responsible for sourcing and negotiating with suppliers for optimal pricing while ensuring high standards of quality and service. The ideal candidate should possess a Diploma with at least 2 years of related experience, preferably in the Automotive sector. Excellent communication, negotiation skills, and proficiency in MS Office are essential. Bilingual candidates in English and Mandarin are highly preferred.

Job description

Responsible for sourcing, selecting and negotiating with suppliers for best pricing while maintain the highest level of quality, reliability and services

Advise internal and external on issues regarding purchasing Terms & Conditions

In charge of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing and following up on Purchase Orders delivery and shipment schedules

Resolve supply, quality, service and invoicing issues with vendors

Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time & best prices and ensure all the criteria are met according to the organizational requirements and expectation

Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Diploma or equivalent with 2 years working experience in related field

Preferred 2 years relevant working experience in a similar capacity preferably in Automotive industry to better understand materials involved

Excellent communications and negotiation skills with suppliers and internal customers is a must

Resourceful, self-driven, proactive and independent worker

Proficient in use of MS Office Applications (Words, Excel)

Bilingual in English and Mandarin to liaise with mandarin speaking suppliers.
