A food ingredients company based in Malaysia is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support sourcing suppliers in the Asia Pacific region. The ideal candidate will conduct market research, manage supplier relationships, and prepare reports. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English are essential. Sourcing of food & feed ingredients suppliers (Asia pacific area) to support sales trading business development
Consistent cold call to hunt for new suppliers
To do research thru multiple resources including online & compile
Planning and executing deliverables to capture key research highlights
Discuss each potential supplier’s details with manager and understand the next action required
Handle existing suppliers, purchase requisition and issue purchase order to supplier
Documentation support as required
Prepare weekly or monthly report to manager for each supplier’s review purpose and ensure data is accurate
