Job summary

A procurement firm in Penang seeks a candidate to oversee purchasing stages, negotiate with suppliers, and maintain purchase records. The ideal applicant will hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and possess strong communication skills. This position requires the ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all stages of purchasing from requisitions to delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and documentation.
  • Negotiate costs, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and regulations.
  • Prepare analysis on purchase reports for management.
  • Assist in developing ISO documents for purchasing.
  • Handle HS code classification and tax calculations.

Job description

Oversee all stages of purchasing, from processing purchase requisitions and issuing purchase orders to tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery.

Maintain accurate records of purchases and related documentation.

Negotiate on cost, terms and conditions of all purchases with supplier.

Evaluate supplier performance reviews regularly based on quality, delivery time, cost and compliance with company requirements.

Ensure adherence to procurement policies, standards, and regulations.

To prepare, collate and do analysis on purchases reports for submission to management.

Assists or participates with the development of ISO documents for the purchasing function.

Handle HS code classification, duty and tax calculations, and exemption applications.

Must understand and follow the company's established management system practices, such as ISO or other relevant standards.

Job Qualifications/Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree: in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistic, or a related field.

Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks.

Good spoken and written communication skills.

Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
