Job summary

A leading retail company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Purchasing Role to assist in vendor negotiations and inventory management. The ideal candidate is cost-sensitive, responsive, and can handle strategic purchasing decisions. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred due to business needs. Own transportation required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist to supervise team and verify stock.
  • Obtain quotations and negotiate for best prices.
  • Maintain supplier list and follow up on deliveries.
  • Verify purchase requisitions against master list.
  • Prepare reports on market conditions.
  • Work closely to solve quality issues.
  • Responsible for month-end stock take.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.

Job description
Key Responsibilities

Assist supervise team from time to time forward available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery.

Obtain quotations from vendors/suppliers and negotiate for the best price, best quality and best service to ensure cost effectiveness.

Maintain and update vendor/supplier list on a timely basis, follow up closely to ensure on time deliveries for ordered items to support progress of works.

Verify purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.

Prepare report pertaining to market conditions and merchandise cost, control purchasing department budget.

Work closely with department head/ outlet / branches to solve quality issues with suppliers.

Responsible doing month end stock take.

Perform any ad hoc and other duties relating to the above as may be assigned by your superior from time to time.

Required Skills

Cost‑sensitive and able to make strategic purchasing decisions.

Highly responsive and able to reply to messages promptly.

Experience in vendor negotiations, supply chain management, and inventory monitoring.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply for this position.
