Job summary

A construction company in Selangor is seeking a candidate to support the purchasing team in sourcing and procuring construction materials and services. The ideal applicant should have a diploma in a relevant field and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities include obtaining quotations, creating Purchase Orders, and coordinating with suppliers for timely deliveries. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic knowledge of purchasing processes are preferred. The role involves maintaining accurate records and updating databases to support procurement functions.

Responsibilities

  • Source and obtain quotations for construction materials and equipment.
  • Compare prices and prepare recommendations for purchasing decisions.
  • Create and process Purchase Orders (POs) accurately.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely material delivery.
  • Follow up on delivery status and resolve any issues.
  • Maintain proper records of quotations, POs, and invoices.
  • Update purchasing and inventory databases.
  • Support the purchasing team with supplier communication.

To support the purchasing team in sourcing and purchasing construction materials, equipment, and services etc

Job Requirements

Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or related field.

Basic knowledge of purchasing/procurement processes (construction industry is an advantage).

Good communication skills and ability to work with suppliers and internal teams.

Strong organisation and attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with purchasing/ERP systems is a plus.

Able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.

Job Responsibilities

Source and obtain quotations for construction materials, equipment, and services.

Compare prices and prepare recommendations for purchasing decisions.

Create and process Purchase Orders (POs) accurately.

Coordinate with suppliers and project sites to ensure timely material delivery.

Follow up on delivery status and resolve delays or issues.

Maintain proper records of quotations, POs, invoices, and delivery documents.

Update purchasing and inventory databases where required.

Support the purchasing team with supplier communication and documentation.
