Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) is seeking an experienced facilities engineer to manage on-site M&E installations and maintenance in Malaysia, including Johor Bahru. You will lead a diverse team, uphold preventive maintenance standards, and deliver accurate facility management reports to clients.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the building manager on M&E projects, planning maintenance inventories, and providing 24-hour emergency support.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in engineering with electrical or mechanical focus.
• 3–7 years of facilities management experience.
• Ability to lead and work as part of a diverse team.
• Familiarity with IBMS/BMS alarm management is a plus.

If challenges that come with being the go-to person on engineering matters excite you, join us to develop your strengths. In this role, you will:

• Uphold excellence and high standards in our preventive maintenance programs and conservation practices.
• Work closely with the building manager to monitor M&E projects, ensuring their quality and timely delivery.
• Deliver complete and accurate facility management reports consistently.
• Carry out regular inspections, quality control, and supervision of technicians and sub-contractors.
• Provide comprehensive facility, contract, and procurement management for technical services to the client.
• Contribute to hitting financial targets, achieving key performance indicators, and meeting service level agreements.
• Ensure 24-hour emergency support by acting as the initial first responder, being familiar with all appropriate processes and procedures.

Shaping a system of best practices

Your engineering prowess will be your toolkit for success. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing on-site mechanical, electrical, plumbing installations, and civil maintenance.
• Preparing the list of critical spares for all installations based on manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Providing engineering and technical assessments to troubleshoot, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Planning the maintenance inventory for in-house teams.
• Developing and implementing a pre-emptive maintenance program to prevent critical equipment failures.
• Ensuring all logbooks, checklists, and schedules are kept up-to-date.
• Arranging ad-hoc M&E setups based on client requirements.

Qualifications:

• A diploma or degree in engineering, ideally in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 3 - 7 years of experience in facilities management.
• The ability to work as part of a diverse team, both in a leadership capacity and as an individual contributor.
• Familiarity with the functionality of IBMS/BMS alarm management and maintenance modules is an added advantage.
