Job summary

An established MNC in the automotive components industry in Johor, Malaysia is seeking a Quality Engineer. The ideal candidate will develop and implement quality plans, ensure compliance with documentation, and collaborate with suppliers. A Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 3-5 years of relevant experience are required. Proficiency in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia is essential. The salary ranges from RM6000 to RM7000.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in automation or industrial systems.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001; additional ISO knowledge is advantageous.
  • Ability to travel to supplier or customer sites as required.

  • Develop and implement Project Quality Plans.
  • Ensure compliance with quality-related documentation and ISO 9001.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering to assess suppliers.
  • Support production teams with in-line quality controls.
  • Participate in FAT and SAT.

Company Background

Our clientis a MNC companyfrom China, with over 30 years of strong expertise in the global automotive components industry. They specialize in design and manufacturing of automotive motor systems, including seat motors, wiper motors, and window regulators, widely used by internationally recognized OEMs. With in-house R&D capabilities and a comprehensive quality management system, the company demonstrates solid technical strength. A modern production facility has been established in Johor, Malaysia, as part of its global expansion strategy, aiming to enhance regional delivery capabilities and better serve its global clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Quality Planning:
    • Develop and implement Project Quality Plans.
    • Participate in project kickoff meetings.
    • Provide quality input for planning and scheduling.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Ensure quality-related documentation (e.g. FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, FAT/SAT protocols) is prepared, reviewed, and approved.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001.
  • Supplier & Subcontractor Quality Management:
    • Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering to assess and qualify suppliers.
  • In-Process Quality Assurance:
    • Support production and assembly teams by implementing in-line quality controls and resolving quality issues.
    • Monitor and track NCR, conduct RCA, and lead CAPA.
  • Testing & Validation:
    • Participate in FAT and SAT.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Support lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement efforts within the project team.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in the automation or other industrial systems sector.
  • Strong understanding of Quality 5 tool: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001; if have others ISO knowledge will be advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia, due to have smooth conversation with external support team and clients from China, and internal team as well.
  • Ability to travel to supplier or customer sites as required (if required, not compulsory).

Salary Range: RM6000-RM7000
