Job summary

The ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management and at least 12 years of experience in project controls within large-scale infrastructure projects. Job Description

Our client is a large transportation group in Malaysia and they are looking for Project Planners to be based in the Northern Region. The Project Planners will be responsible for managing and coordinating planning and reporting activities related to the overall project. This includes scheduling, progress tracking, variance analysis, and reporting to ensure timely and efficient project execution.

Key Accountabilities
  • Assist in coordinating planning and reporting activities for the overall project or assigned work packages.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including both internal timelines and those involving contractors and consultants.
  • Track work progress, highlight deviations, and support delay and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and regularly update Time Chainage Diagrams to reflect actual site progress.
  • Monitor critical paths and assist in resolving issues affecting key milestones.
  • Compile progress updates and assist in generating reports for internal use and external stakeholders.
  • Input and maintain accurate project data in the Enterprise Dashboard System.
  • Adhere to the organisation's Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) and ensure compliance with all integrity-related practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent (CGPA ≥ 3.00 or equivalent).
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, and reporting in a fast‑paced infrastructure environment is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in project controls and progress monitoring, preferably in large‑scale infrastructure or building projects.
  • Proficient in using Primavera P6 project management software.
  • Sound understanding of contracts and contract administration.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Proficiency in planning tools such as Primavera or MS Project is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Able to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
  • Familiar with progress measurement methods and project performance tracking.
