Project Manager, ELV (TELCO/BMS/Control/Security)
ELV Manager who is fully responsible to successfully manage, execute, complete and handover multiple MEP projects.
The ELV Manager is responsible for managing existing Telco/BMS/EPMS/Security solutions while developing the technical vision and vendor roadmaps to introduce new solutions that improve both internal and external customer experience. This role is a hands‑on position that requires collaboration and coordination with the Design team, Project & Construction team, Critical Operations teams to ensure a consistent and replicable solution is being delivered and maintained. The ELV manager will be responsible for the integration of Telco/BMS/EPMS/Security Systems and relevant data into a larger technology platform that will improve the visibility and efficiency of the DC properties in the region.
Responsibilities
- Attending regular meetings (on work progress, coordination, design, etc.) with Main Contractor and Consultant to discuss key issues related to the project and take effective corrective actions.
- Monitoring project budgets, schedule and oversee performance to ensure on time, quality and on budget project execution.
- Work with key technology partners to support the various internal teams in the ELV design, delivery, and commissioning of new projects. Ensure all alarms are classified and integrated into the alarm management system and are being delivered to site operation team hand held device reliability.
- Work with internal key stakeholders to define business requirements and develop/build BMS/EPMS standards and reference architecture for Bridge DC BMS platforms.
- Developing and monitoring the clients brief, leading the fast track high end ELV design delivery scope and execution of the scheme.
- Developing reusable templates and databases for BMS / EPMS system to improve project delivery lead times and quality from BMS vendors.
- Lead the day-to-day operational aspects of the company’s BMS/EPMS and alarm monitoring systems.
- Introducing automation in daily operations via the usage of BMS/EPMS systems, i.e. working with technology partners to develop dashboards, reports to minimize risks and downtime.
- Qualify all BMS vendors and implement company procurement procedures including managing projects, developing specifications, and analysing total cost of ownership.
- Be a point of escalation and provide guidance and direction to the site teams during incidents/events affecting site operation and implement new standards to reduce incidents.
- Prepare periodic reports for management including status of budgets, variance/ change claims, schedules, disputes, up‑coming activities and safety records.
- Ensure all technical aspects of the projects are strictly complied with and in conformity with Conditions of Contract, Particular Specifications, General Specifications, Contract Drawings and BOQ.
- Ensure that the health and safety requirements are provided and that they comply with authorities regulations.
- Provide ELV guidance, managerial, technical support to complete project team.
- Analyze drawings, specifications and statements of work in the preparation of activity networks for project resource planning and scheduling.
- Prepare program master schedule and performs critical path analysis.
- Prepare plans and schedules, status reports and performance evaluation.
- Provide program planning capabilities including interfaces and risks analysis.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience with working knowledge in management of building control, monitoring, and alarm systems for Data Centres or Critical Facilities, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Facilities Management or related engineering disciplines.
- Advanced technical skills in BMS products from Schneider Electric or Azbil.
- Advanced technical knowledge in Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), network, and digital communication systems are also required.
- Demonstrated expertise in design and operation of critical MEP infrastructure, including multiple types of Uninterruptible Power Systems, Emergency Power Systems, water‑cooled and air‑cooled air conditioning systems, and critical data centre electrical and mechanical distribution systems.
- Ability to comprehend, analyse and interpret complex project documents and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fast track project experience.
- Working knowledge of plans, prints, specifications and schematics associated with trade.
- Experience of managing contractors and consultant teams.
- Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
