Job summary

Randstad Malaysia seeks a seasoned Project Manager to lead digitalization and transformation initiatives within semiconductor manufacturing and testing operations. You will drive cross-functional programs with regional stakeholders to improve efficiency and performance.

Reporting to regional leadership, you will champion structured problem solving, governance, and risk mitigation while collaborating with engineering, quality, IT, and operations teams across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in high-tech manufacturing.
• Experience leading digitalization, transformation, automation or manufacturing improvement projects.
• Understanding of semiconductor back-end manufacturing and testing processes is advantageous.
• Ability to manage complex cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 or IPMA are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end digitalization and transformation projects in semiconductor manufacturing/testing.
• Manage scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables for successful execution.
• Drive process improvement, cost optimization, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, IT and other functions.
• Identify risks, resolve challenges, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Establish governance, monitor milestones, and report progress to regional stakeholders.
• Facilitate problem-solving using 8D, 5 Whys, and root cause analysis.
• Support regional/global transformation initiatives to enhance capabilities.

As part of its ongoing digital transformation initiatives, the company is looking for an experienced Project Manager to drive digitalization, operational improvement, and transformation projects within its manufacturing and testing operations.

Reporting to a regional leadership team, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional digitalization and transformation projects, with a focus on enhancing manufacturing efficiency, test operations, and overall operational performance.

This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with international stakeholders and contribute to strategic initiatives across local and global manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end digitalization and transformation projects within semiconductor manufacturing and testing operations.
• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
• Drive process improvement, cost optimization, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, IT, and other business functions.
• Identify project risks, resolve technical and operational challenges, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Establish project governance, monitor milestones, and provide regular progress updates to regional stakeholders.
• Facilitate structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, and root cause analysis.
• Support regional and global transformation initiatives to enhance manufacturing capabilities and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of project management experience, preferably within semiconductor manufacturing or a related high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading digitalization, digital transformation, automation, or manufacturing improvement projects.
• Good understanding of semiconductor back-end manufacturing and testing processes would be highly advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, IPMA, or equivalent would be an added advantage.
• Candidates from industrial automation or technology solution providers with relevant semiconductor manufacturing exposure are encouraged to apply.
