Job description

Project Manager - Digital Robotics will lead and coordinate digital automation projects focused on vision systems, AR-guided assembly, digital commissioning, and real-time robotic data integration. Help establish a digital ecosystem where data meets physical execution — reducing training time, enhancing precision, and enabling rapid scalability

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Drive project pipeline for AR work instructions, digital commissioning, and robotics integration
  • Lead digital commissioning for process validation, simulation, and performance analytics
  • Coordinate software vendors and internal teams for AR and robotics platforms
  • Identify and implement vision-based inspection and feedback systems
  • Align cross-functional teams to connect automation with digital productivity metrics
  • Define use cases that increase productivity with digital robotics solutions across product lines and regions
  • Drive automation investments in Digital Robotics with up to 1m CHF budgets
  • Collaborate with EHS, Manufacturing Engineering, and suppliers for safe and scalable rollouts
  • Coordinate pilot deployment, vendor engagement, simulation testing, and site ramp-up
  • Define and integrate standardized automation architectures (e.g. D365, MES systems, etc.)
  • Develop documentation, workflows, and investment cases for digital robotics initiatives

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Robotics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Manufacturing Systems Engineering (reflecting digital integration needs)
  • 2+ years of experience in automation project management, including Robotics integration and commissioning
  • Familiarity with vision systems, AR-assisted assembly, and digital commissioning tools
  • Digitalization of manufacturing processes (MES, IoT, AR/VR)
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and vendors in a global manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Robotics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Manufacturing Systems Engineering (reflecting digital integration needs)
  • 5+ years of experience in automation project management, including Robotics integration and commissioning
  • LEAN / Six Sigma experience preferred (Green Belt or Black Belt an advantage)
  • Technical expertise in Ssmulation tools for material flow (e.g., Tecnomatix, FlexSim)
  • Experience with shopfloor automation in high-mix manufacturing involving safety risk reductions
  • Familiarity with polishing, presetting, setup operations, and ergonomics-enhancing systems
  • Robotics programming and integration (e.g., ABB, KUKA, Fanuc)
  • Familiarity with vision systems, AR-assisted assembly, and digital commissioning tools
  • Experience with MES/D365 ERP integration and data analytics for automation
  • Proven track record managing projects up to CHF 1M and scaling them across sites
  • Exposure to semiconductors or advanced industrial sectors a big advantage
  • Structured project delivery mindset with strong vendor and stakeholder management
