A leading construction firm in Johor Bahru is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee construction projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years in the construction industry, a degree in Civil Engineering, and strong project management skills. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, and English is preferred. Responsibilities include managing project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful project completions.

Job description
  • Oversee and manage assigned projects, ensuring smooth progress of all site activities and technical works.
  • Define and establish the project scope, budget, timeline, and required quality standards.
  • Review and reconcile discrepancies between tender documents and actual site conditions.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout project delivery.
  • Estimate risk and change budgets; communicate cost or schedule impacts of changes to senior management.
  • Lead stakeholder (client, consultant, internal teams) communication, especially on managing and resolving on‑site discrepancies and resulting project changes.
  • Monitor and control project changes, recommending corrective and preventive actions as needed.
  • Drive on‑time project completion, ensuring deliverables meet client needs, quality standards, business goals, and design guidelines within budget.
  • Manage project handovers, ensuring all scopes are completed, deliverables finalized, and documentation signed off by authorized stakeholders.
  • Provide clear leadership to project teams; represent the company in key client and project meetings.
  • Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with all project stakeholders.
  • Ensure project profitability by monitoring progress, controlling costs, and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Manage site materials efficiently, including planning, tracking, and optimizing material usage.
Requirements
  • Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or Professional qualification in Civil Engineering.
  • Excellent project management, time management, and leadership abilities.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, and English; Mandarin‑speaking candidates preferred for effective HQ communication.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the construction industry (senior roles for experienced candidates)
