Job description

Responsibilities

• Responsible to plan, organize, manage and monitor multiple projects simultaneously from initiation to completion and maintain high standards of quality and safety, adhere to timeline and budgets and compliance with all regulatory and client requirements including approvals from authorities, governing bodies.
• Coordinate & manage internal teams and external stakeholders including clients’ expectations for smooth project execution and maintaining strong communication
• Manage consultants and contractors to achieve project objectives; attend and actively participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Liaison (clarification. negotiation, briefing, follow-up, etc) with Client (i.e. Government) relating to project development and issues arising during project implementation and operation.
• Develop Bill of Quantities (BQ) for projects and participate in RFQ (Request for Quotation) process and vendor evaluations.
• Prepare, apply and review project documentation, permits, and licenses to relevant authorities related to projects, including project financing
• Oversee preparation of contract/agreement for projects with Client.
• Provide periodic reports to management on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Responsible for preparation of annual budgets and project budgets, and control of cost the budget; accountable for the profit and loss (P&L) of every project.
• Accountable to provide technical recommendations to management.
• Perform any other tasks or assignments as and when assigned by the Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in project or construction management, exposure to waste management projects in an added advantage.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
• Willingness to travel within Malaysia.
• Meticulous and systematic in organizing own work processes.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written in multilingual i.e. English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• High sensitivity to Profit & Loss and budgetary constraint.
