A construction and engineering firm in Malaysia is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee projects in the oil and gas sector. The role involves collaborating with engineers and technician teams to meet project specifications, ensuring smooth operations, managing work orders, and maintaining quality and safety standards. Candidates should have strong project management skills and be able to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
· Overseas a project and work with team to meet goals by an assigned deadline.
· Collaborate with engineers, technician teams and clients to meet specifications of project
· Ensure smooth day to day operation of work activities.
· Ensure clients’ requests are received 24/7 and coordinate work activities with technician teams.
· Minimize work order aging, ensure deadlines are met.
· Manage work orders to ensure technical specifications are met.
· Manage emergency work orders and provide guidance when needed.
· Assign work order according to priority, timeline and manpower allocation.
· Print work order, JHA and related documentations for technician teams.
· Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the client and project team.
· Monitor sub-contractors and ensure compliance to safety and quality.
· Provide drawings, specifications and engineering guidance to technician teams.
· Evaluate job scope at site, propose project plan, measurements and specifications
· Conduct site inspections to monitor technical specifications, identify client complaints, analyze site issues, check for quality assurance and propose action plans.
· Responsible to design project timeline.
· Evaluate project progress and prepare detailed reports.
· Prepare substantial completion documents and ensure all required project close out documents are obtained.
· Attend joint visit, kick-off meetings, handover meetings and safety meetings.
· Ensure good document control on operational processes.
· Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) for projects from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
· Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and report issues arising.
· Obtain necessary permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
· Prepare project organization and communication charts.
· To formulate, implement and enforce operational work procedures.
· Identify any potential problems during operation and continuously improve work processes to prevent it.
· Work together with safety department to design training plans on competency and safety for technician teams.
· Maintain good relationship with site workers, suppliers, sub-contractors and clients.
· Any ad hoc task as assigned by superior.
