Job summary

A leading renewable energy company based in Malaysia is seeking a qualified individual to oversee construction activities, ensure quality control, and coordinate with various teams. The ideal candidate should have a high diploma in Civil & Structure Engineering, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and be willing to relocate to Northern Malaysia. Job description
  • Oversee earthworks, foundations (RC pads, piles), trenches, and building works (control rooms, inverter stations).
  • Monitor steel structure erection for PV arrays and substations.
  • Inspect reinforcement and structural elements before concreting.
  • Supervise full construction of control buildings (substructure, superstructure, architectural finishes).

2. Quality Control & Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Witness field tests (e.g., soil compaction, concrete cube, pile pull-out).
  • Inspect alignment, dimensions, insulation, waterproofing, and fire-rated elements.
  • Supervise concrete pouring and curing.

3. Multidisciplinary Coordination

  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and environmental teams.
  • Resolve technical queries and RFIs.
  • Review shop drawings and support handover inspections before equipment fit-out.

4. Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track construction progress, identify delays, and report issues.
  • Maintain detailed site records and photo documentation.
  • Prepare progress updates for project managers and clients.

5. HSE Compliance

  • Enforce safe work practices (e.g., excavation, lifting, working at height).
  • Participate in safety walks and issue corrective actions.
  • Support civil-related testing (e.g., structural integrity, drainage checks).
  • Assist with punch list finalisation before handover.

7. Site Administration & Documentation

  • Manage material submittals and approvals.
  • Verify subcontractor progress and payment claims.
  • Prepare and submit civil/structural as-built drawings.

Requirements

1. Civil & Structure Engineering (Min. High Diploma)

2. Minimum 3 years working Experience

3. Will to relocate and base in Northern Malaysia

4. Familiarity with site testing standards (compaction tests, slump tests, pile integrity tests)
