A global manufacturing firm is seeking a Program Manager located in Penang, Malaysia. This role involves managing customer relationships, leading the Customer Focus Team, and ensuring revenue and growth objectives are met. Ideal candidates will have a degree and 5-8 years of experience in the EMS industry, alongside strong problem-solving and communication skills. This position is essential for creating and developing profitable business opportunities and driving customer initiatives.
Purpose Statement: The Program Manager leads the tactical interface between the customer and various Plexus functional areas. This position is responsible for leading the Customer Focus Team (CFT) and managing the day-to-day customer relationship. In essence, be the “voice of Plexus” to the customer and the “voice of the customer” to Plexus.
Responsible for meeting revenue and customer growth objectives for Plexus through managing of Program Managers and Customer teams, while working closely with quoting, manufacturing & materials.
Responsible for understanding and driving the customer P&L (sales, margins, mark- ups), contribution goals, inventory goals and any specific cost drivers.
Work with site leadership in regards to customer initiatives such as determining priority for capacity conflicts and coordinating site revenue/P&L improvements.
Manages the site staff of program managers to assure adequate coverage for the site's customer base. Makes adjustments as needed.
Generate and manage the customers’ management budgets.
Direct the Program Management team to ensure a successful transition of new business.
Create & develop profitable new business opportunities with the existing and new transition customers.
Maintains close working relationships with the Plexus customer managers, directors and account executives in order to provide customer service excellence.
Maintain a basic understanding of and ensure adherence to customer contracts and/or materials agreements.
Requirements:
Degree with minimum 5-8 years’ working experience or equivalent in EMS Companies.
Assertive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
Must be able to problem solve, prioritize and have the ability to multitask and continuously improve processes and capabilities.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication, organizational and troubleshooting skills
Ability to discern the alignment of customer requests and actions against contractual stipulations and accepted business conditions
Create presentations, documents, etc. for management and customers to effectively communicate business problems and solutions
Must demonstrate management skills as defined by company leadership development
Familiarity with financial metrics and levers that drive the metrics; ability to develop and implement improvement actions
Ability to learn the operating facets of the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry.
