A manufacturing company based in Seremban is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee casting production operations. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in the manufacturing field, strong leadership abilities, and good problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include planning production schedules, ensuring quality standards, and supervising a team of assistants. This role requires shift work and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Plan production of the casting line based on the production worksheet.
Coordinate with the production planner on mould schedules.
Prepare the schedule for extruded PRX-Clay for socket plate preparation.
Monitor and manage sample runs and pre‑production.
Work with the quality control supervisor to check the process and quality in casting, consistently improving production standards in the section.
Ensure casting products meet quality specifications and expectations.
Identify and reject defective formers immediately and take corrective actions.
Provide necessary training to operators to maintain quality standards.
Work closely with machine operators and maintenance teams to minimise machine downtime.
Conduct daily checks on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) items and update records accordingly.
Perform daily machine checks using the designated checklist.
Ensure the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) is consistently applied as a core operational principle.
Ensure operators strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ensure adherence to safety rules and regulations.
Support section operatives' welfare and enforce company policies.
Communicate, supervise, and follow up with all the casting assistant supervisors to ensure production targets are achieved.
Keeping the HOD, production manager, and production planner informed about daily performance within the section.
Conduct daily briefings with operators using the briefing list to align them on priorities and tasks.
Plan weekly manpower allocation effectively.
Update attendance and arrange overtime as needed to meet production demands.
Report all day‑to‑day problems and issues to the Head of Department (HOD).
Attend daily mould reject, shopfloor, and turn‑over meetings with the necessary information and details.
Responsible for arranging moulds for casting lines as per turn‑over planning and updating the mould status in the online system. Communicate with the HOD and planning department on mould arrangements on a daily basis.
Ensure the products predrying and drying (dryer loading and unloading operations) process are carried out according to the standards and turn‑over planning.
Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.
Carry out internal audits (internal auditor) for the Quality Management System.
Basic technical skills.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the manufacturing field.
Experience in handling manpower and production planning.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to work in shifts.
Good problem‑solving and communication skills.
