Job summary

FLEXTRONICS TECHNOLOGY (PENANG) SDN BHD in Perai, Penang, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead multiple production lines in a highly technical environment, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

You will coach a team of engineers and operators, prioritize production schedules, troubleshoot operational issues, and collaborate with maintenance and project teams to drive cost and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in production/manufacturing with related experience.
• At least 2 years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Leads the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment and responsible for the lines success.
• Evaluates daily plant performance and advises on changes to improve efficiencies and quality.
• Lead a team of professionals to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements.
• Troubleshoot and analyze operational problems and coach operators to improve performance.
• Solicits and evaluates ideas for plant improvements and collaborates with engineers on proposals.
• Provides technical and operational advice to project teams.
• May act as principal interface between operations and maintenance.
• Engage in training and coaching of junior operators.
• Prioritize production schedules to meet customer requirements.
• Participate in process development and cost improvement projects.
• Assist in department budgeting and expense management.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment and compliance with policies.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.

Education

What a typical day looks like:

• Leads the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment and responsible for the lines success.

• Evaluates daily/regularly plant operating performance and advises on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies and quality.

• Lead a team of individual professionals (e.g. engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements.

• Troubleshoot and analyze operational problems and advise on their resolution. Guide regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding and capability.

• Solicits and evaluates ideas for plant improvements and collaborates with qualified engineers to develop project proposals.

• Provides technical and operational advice to project teams.

• May act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.

• Engage in training and coaching of junior operators.

• Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply in order to meet customer requirements.

• Initiate and participate in process development and cost improvement projects.

• Assist in department budget planning and management of department expenses.

• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing individuals on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Ensures compliance to manufacturing standards.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience related to production and manufacturing as well as 2 years of operations experience.
