Job Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure smooth manufacturing operations, on-time delivery, and optimal utilization of resources. This role acts as a key link between production, procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to align material availability, capacity planning, and customer demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and production capacity.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and logistics to ensure raw material and component availability.
- Monitor work-in-progress and adjust schedules proactively to meet changing priorities or unexpected delays.
- Communicate production plans and updates to relevant departments (sales, quality, production, site, and delivery teams).
- Liaise with process engineers to optimize production efficiency by minimizing downtime, setup time, and material shortages.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, variances, and improvement opportunities.
- Support inventory management by balancing production output with demand and stock levels.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy.
- Prepare regular reports on production performance, forecast accuracy, and capacity utilization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (preferably SAP).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis capabilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in lean manufacturing or process optimization.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with capacity planning and material requirement planning (MRP).
- Ability to generate reports and documents for process improvement activities.
- Experience providing training for process improvement initiatives.
EMS Responsibilities
- Understand and uphold the company’s Environmental Policy and EMS.
- Communicate and report environmental matters to the Superior / EMR / EHS Officer.
- Know actions to take in normal, abnormal, and emergency environmental situations.
- Participate in environmental training, programs, and audits.
- Understand the environmental impact of work and take responsibility to mitigate it.
- Conserve natural resources including water, energy, and paper.
