Job Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure smooth manufacturing operations, on-time delivery, and optimal utilization of resources. This role acts as a key link between production, procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to align material availability, capacity planning, and customer demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders and production capacity.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse and logistics to ensure raw material and component availability.
- Monitor work-in-progress and adjust schedules proactively to meet changing priorities or unexpected delays.
- Communicate production plans and updates to relevant departments (sales, quality, production team, site and delivery team, etc)
- Liaise with process engineer to optimize production efficiency by minimizing downtime, setup time and material shortages.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, variances and opportunities for improvement.
- Support inventory management by balancing production output with demand and stock levels
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy.
- Prepare regular reports on production performance, forecast accuracy and capacity utilization.
- Any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, manufacturing or related field.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling or manufacturing coordination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP system (preferably SAP).
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.
- Strong Microsoft excel and data analysis capabilities.
Preferred Skills (Optional)
- Experience in lean manufacturing or process optimization
- Knowledge of ISO9001 on QMS.
- Familiarity with capacity planning and material requirement planning (MRP)
- Generate relevant documents & report for process improvement activities
- Provide trainings to the team for process improvement activities
EMS Responsibility
- Understand, implement, and uphold the company'sEnvironmental Policy and EMS.
- Communicate & report environmental matters to the Superior / EMR / EHS Officer.
- Know actions to be taken in any normal, abnormal, and emergency related to the company'senvironmental situation.
- Attend, participate and give support for activities related to environment such as training, environmental program and environmental audits.
- Understand the environmental impacts of their work and their responsibility to control and mitigate it.
- Conserve natural resources by conservation of water, energy and paper.
