Material Planning and Forecasting
- Develop, implement, and manage material control plans to meet production demands.
- Analyze production schedules and forecasts to ensure the availability of required materials.
- Collaborate with sales, production, and supply chain teams to align material planning with business goals.
Inventory Management
- Oversee inventory levels to ensure adequate stock without overstocking or understocking.
- Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and reduce overall costs.
- Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures and policies.
Warehouse and Logistics Oversight
- Super material handling, storage, and movement to support production workflows.
- Ensure proper maintenance of inventory control systems and physical inventory checks.
- Liaise with logistics teams to ensure efficient transportation of raw materials.
Process Optimization
- Identify areas for improvement in material control processes and implement cost-saving measures.
- Lead initiatives to optimize production scheduling and reduce material waste.
- Introduce and oversee automation or software tools to improve material planning and tracking.
Team Leadership and Training
- Provide leadership and guidance to the material control and procurement team.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members to improve their skills and competencies.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Reporting and Analysis
- Create and maintain accurate reports on inventory levels, material usage, and supply chain KPIs.
- Analyze material usage trends and recommend adjustments based on data insights.
- Report to senior management on supply chain performance and risks.
Budgeting and Cost Control
- Develop and manage the budget for material procurement and control.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
- Ensure that material expenses align with organizational financial goals.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure all material control activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Address potential risks in material availability or quality to prevent disruptions in production.
- Maintain and monitor safety standards in material handling and storage.
Collaboration and Communication
- Act as the liaison between production, logistics, procurement, and other related departments.
- Communicate material requirements, delays, or concerns effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Melayu. Mandarin speaker is an added advantage.
- At least 8 years of experience in production planning, warehouse operations or related field is an advantage.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Willing to work in Port Klang, Selangor.
