Job Summary
The PMC Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the Production & Material Control function to ensure smooth manufacturing operations. This role manages production planning, material forecasting, inventory accuracy, scheduling, and coordination between cross-functional teams to achieve optimal delivery performance, cost efficiency, and resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and manage the Master Production Plan (MPS) based on customer forecasts, order trends, and capacity analysis.
- Ensure timely release of production schedules to support on-time delivery (OTD).
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to address bottlenecks or urgent demands.
2. Material Planning & Inventory Control
- Lead material requirement planning (MRP) to ensure sufficient materials without overstocking.
- Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle count and stock reconciliation activities.
- Coordinate with procurement on material shortages, lead-time issues, and supplier delivery performance.
3. Demand & Supply Coordination
- Act as the main liaison between Production, Procurement, Engineering, Warehouse, and Customer Service.
- Translate customer demand into executable production plans.
- Balance supply constraints with production capacity to meet customer commitments.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor key KPIs such as OTD, inventory turns, planning accuracy, and buffer status.
- Provide regular reports to management on material status, production risk, and capacity gaps.
- Use data to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Lead, train, and develop the PMC team to strengthen planning, scheduling, and material control capabilities.
- Ensure strong discipline in planning processes and information accuracy.
- Drive proactive communication and issue resolution among the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Production Planning/Material Control, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of MRP/MPS, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/etc.), and inventory management practices.
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume or precision manufacturing is an advantage.
