About the Role
A Production Manager (SMT & PCBA) is responsible to lead and manage day‑to‑day production activities in the organization’s facility. He/She needs to ensure smooth execution of production schedules, maintain high‑quality standards, and drive continuous improvement across SMT and PCBA lines. He/She must also be a detail‑oriented leader with hands‑on experience in electronics manufacturing processes and team management.
Job Description
1. Production Planning & Execution
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily production activities for SMT and PCBA lines.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules, delivery commitments, and customer requirements.
- Coordinate with planning and supply chain teams to secure materials and resources.
2. Process & Equipment Management
- Oversee SMT machines, wave soldering, reflow ovens, AOI, ICT, and other PCBA‑related equipment.
- Monitor line performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and calibration schedules are followed.
3. Quality Assurance
- Work closely with QA teams to ensure compliance with IPC standards and customer specifications.
- Enforce ESD control, process discipline, and defect prevention measures.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for production issues.
- Supervise line leaders, operators, and technicians.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations to build a skilled workforce.
- Promote a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment.
- Drive productivity improvements through Lean Manufacturing.
- Monitor KPIs such as yield, cycle time, and line efficiency, and implement improvement plans.
- Support cost reduction and waste elimination projects.
6. Customer & Internal Coordination
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams to meet customer expectations.
- Provide production status updates and resolve issues impacting delivery or quality.
Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field (Diploma with strong experience may be considered).
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of SMT and PCBA processes, equipment, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Hands‑on approach to production management.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for production planning.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
