A manufacturing company in Penang is seeking an experienced engineering professional to oversee production and maintenance operations. Responsibilities include managing resources, ensuring quality compliance, and developing training programs for staff. Candidates should possess at least a diploma or degree in engineering with a minimum of five years’ experience, and familiarity with ERP systems and ISO standards is preferred. This position involves continuous improvement efforts to enhance productivity and workplace safety.
Responsible for the overall operations and functions of Production, Cutting and Maintenance Section including maintenance of machinery, tooling and equipment to ensure efficiency of production and quality products to achieve the overall production plan target.
Review performance and set management target and improvement plan for production, cutting and maintenance; report the performance to the Management.
Establish, maintain, implement and review all documented procedures and instructions are followed by the departmental staff.
Monitoring and controlling of the human resources, materials and machinery to ensure maximum productivity and effective utilization including optimisation of resources in line with Company’s quality objectives.
Run production as per the production schedule including product sample and meet its production target and customer specification and requirements including responsible for departmental cost of production and wastage control.
Responsible for the periodical environmental monitoring in the factory e.g. polyfoam and dirty bead wastes, scheduled wastes generation and inventory, air emission, sewage water and wastewater, etc.
Plan and arrange with JKKP/DOSH for the 15 months machinery inspections on those required machinery to ensure all inspected machines are having valid permit.
In charge of new customer project i.e. review of customer drawing, new tooling fabrication and design for manufacturing (DFM).
Identify and recommending departmental training needs to ensure the overall safety of workers including providing personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining and implementing good housekeeping at work place.
Training Section Heads/workers in proper manufacturing skills, managing and communicating as well as motivating them to maximise their abilities to function effectively in daily duties.
Planning effectively to minimise anticipate production related problems including trouble shoot them by implement preventive/corrective actions.
Maintain and co-ordinate good housekeeping and ensure good 5’S is practise all the time.
As a vice chairman of the safety & health committee, committee member in the ISO 14001 Committee and actively participate and involve in the Company’s activities. (Eg ISO,ERP, etc)
Responsible to perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum a diploma/degree in engineering with at least 5 years working experience.
Preferably with computer knowledge and related experience in ERP, ISO 9001, 14001, etc.
