Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking a Production Manager to oversee production schedules, motivate staff, and ensure quality standards. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing management. Strong leadership and decision-making skills are essential, alongside proficiency in English and Bahasa Melayu.

Job description

Monitor production schedule closely to ensure on-time delivery, react, and solve daily production issues immediately.

Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production, quality, cost, and delivery.

Evaluating machine resources to ensure continued production and zero downtime.

Motivating, supporting, and providing guidance to production staff.

Setting productivity goals for each manufacturing team.

Developing process flow, such as value stream mapping (VSM), initial process improvement, and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety and quality.

Determine the number of necessary resources, such as workforce and optimize the usage of raw materials, and ensure output meets the quality standards.

Supervise and evaluate the performance of the production staff from time to time.

Ability to coach, train and motivate employees.

Managing the cost of manufacturing includes justification of overtime, production cycle time and manhours required, etc.

Experience in industrial 4.0, Lean Production System (LPS), and cost reduction activities with the proven historical successful project.

Job Requirement:

Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Minimum 3 years of working experience in a similar position in the manufacturing environment.

Excellent leadership quality, strong team player, good communication and interpersonal skills, and can-do attitude.

Deep knowledge of production management.

Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.

Proficient in English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin speaking and or any other Chinese dialects.
