The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire steel fabrication process, ensuring production efficiency, product quality, and safety compliance. This role manages production planning, workforce supervision, and coordination with engineering and procurement teams to meet project deadlines and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on project timelines and delivery requirements.
- Ensure optimal use of manpower, materials, and machinery to achieve production targets.
- Process & Quality Control
- Monitor fabrication processes including cutting, welding, bending, and assembly to ensure adherence to specifications, drawings, and standards.
- Implement quality control measures and coordinate with the QC team to address non-conformities.
- Team Management
- Lead, train, and supervise production staff, including foremen, technicians, and machine operators.
- Ensure high morale, discipline, and productivity among team members.
- Control production costs by minimizing wastage, improving efficiency, and reducing downtime.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for productivity, quality, and delivery.
- Safety & Compliance
- Enforce strict adherence to workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure all operations comply with ISO, OSHA, and local authority standards.
- Coordination & Reporting
- Collaborate with design/engineering, procurement, and logistics departments for smooth workflow.
- Provide regular production updates and reports to management.
