Flex is seeking a Production Manager to oversee multiple manufacturing lines in Batu Kawan, Penang. You will lead a team of supervisors and engineers to deliver quality, on-time production.

The role requires a strong operations background in electronics/semiconductor settings, a bachelor’s degree, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives with safety in mind. You will partner with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to achieve targets and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of operations experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Bachelor's degree in production/manufacturing or engineering is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production of multiple processes/lines (SMT, Wave, assembly, burn-in, test and packing).
• Lead a team of supervisors and engineers to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness targets.
• Review plant performance daily and advise on changes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshoot operational problems and coach operators to enhance capability.
• Collaborate with engineers on plant improvements and project proposals.
• Provide technical/operational guidance to project teams.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Production Manager located in Batu Kawan, Penang

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical environment (Process include SMT, Wave, assembly, Burn-in & test and packing).
• Leads a team comprising of individual professionals (e.g. production supervisor, engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements.
• Reviews daily/regularly plant operating performance, evaluate areas that may be impacting performance, and advise on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies/quality.
• Troubleshoots/analyses operational problems and advises on their resolution. Holds regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding/capability.
• Listen to and evaluate ideas for plant improvements and work with qualified engineers to develop project proposals to encourage improvements and changes.
• Provides technical/operational advice to project teams.
• May act as principal interface between the operation team and the maintenance function.
• May train and coach junior operators and junior team leaders

• Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply in order to meet customer requirements.
• Initiates and participates in process development and cost improvement projects.
• Assists in department budget planning and manage department expenses.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance of standards.
• Ensure that all manufacturing area personnel are trained and certified in their specific functions, and that no task is performed by untrained.
• Ensure that all manufacturing personnel adhere to all safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience related to production and manufacturing or engineering as well as 8 years of operations experience.
• Demonstrates detailed expertise in a very complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across sites.
