KLK Hardwood Floor Sdn Bhd (KLKHF) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur-Kepong Berhad. BKB commenced production in 1994 with the factory located in Ipoh, Perak. The factory has a built‑up area of more than 28,000 sqm and features some of the latest state‑of‑art engineered hardwood flooring technology from leading European wood machinery and equipment manufacturers.
Responsibilities
- To report directly to immediate superior.
- Manage and lead production and planning personnel to achieve goals and targets.
- Manage and monitor production and planning activities to ensure that all operational matters are carried out efficiently and effectively to ensure that:
- (i) Customers’ requirements are met
- (iii) Production output and quality targets are met.
- (iv) Reduction in waste.
- (v) Machine capacity maximized and optimized.
- (vi) Materials and other resources utilized in an efficient and effective manner.
- Develop plans and strategies to continuously achieve product and quality expectations.
- Develop operating standards for each process to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and product quality.
- Verify and approve required documentation.
- Motivate, train, and develop a highly effective team through good management practices.
- Perform any such comparable duties as may be required by the HOD.
- Ensure full understanding, participation and support from the department towards the company’s safety, health and environmental program, including:
- a. Support and promote all rules & regulations related to occupational, safety & health management system (OSHMS).
- b. Immediately notify HOD of potential hazards and conditions that may result in a violation of an OSHMS requirement.
- c. Report direct to immediate superior any pertinent issues pertaining to health and safety at the workplace.
- d. Ensure that all safety and health procedures are followed.
- e. Exercise stop‑work and chase‑out authority for those who do not comply with SS safety rules and regulations.
Job Success Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Business / Management or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years working experience preferably in a manufacturing industry, with minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Hands‑on experience in a production line.
- Cross‑functional experience in operations, planning and production preferred.
- Those without an academic qualification, but with relevant and strong industry experience may be considered.
- Demonstrating leadership in cross‑functional initiatives in operational effectiveness, project management and cost efficiency in achieving objectives.
- Ability to work well with cross‑functional teams.
- Computer literate with knowledge on Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and influential skills.
- Business oriented and strategic in thinking.
- Self‑motivated with initiative, drive and willingness to take ownership to make things happen.
- Good organizational and planning skills.
- Financial and budgeting skills.
- Good working knowledge of ISO9001 & ISO 14001.
