Job summary

A leading HVAC manufacturing company in Selangor is seeking a Process Engineer to review technical drawings and optimize manufacturing processes. The role includes supervising fabrication, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, and coordinating quality assurance efforts. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has experience with HVAC products. Successful applicants will work in Bukit Angkat, Kajang, and those shortlisted will be notified.

Responsibilities

• Review technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing processes.
• Supervise fabrication operations and ensure compliance with standards.

Job description

Process Engineering & Optimization

Review technical drawings and specifications to plan manufacturing processes.

Define and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WI) for fabrication, assembly, and testing.

Optimize production techniques for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.

Fabrication & Assembly Oversight

Supervise fabrication of components (tubes, shells, baffles, headers, welding quality).

Oversee welding, machining, and assembly operations.

Ensure compliance with ISO, ASME, PED, and JKKP standards applicable to vessels.

Quality Assurance

Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspection and testing (hydrotest, leak test, etc.).

Identify and troubleshoot non-conformances during production.

Ensure documentation and traceability per quality requirements.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure all production activities comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Conduct regular safety audits and promote a culture of safe work practices.

Recommend and implement process improvements and new technologies.

Train and mentor shop‑floor personnel on technical and process aspects.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of fabrication processes (welding, cutting, forming, machining).
• Familiarity with design codes such as ASME Section VIII.
• Good working knowledge of computers, spreadsheet applications and word processing software.
• Effective organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and carry out responsibilities with a minimum of direction.
• Proficiency in process improvement and problem‑solving tools and techniques.
• Demonstrate project management skills and facilitation skills.

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other applicable field.
• Experience with manufacturing of HVAC products is an advantage.
• Experience with design, management and auditing of quality systems, including ISO 9000 is an advantage.
