Overview
We are seeking an experienced Procurement professional to manage end-to-end procurement and contract activities for our construction projects. This role is based in Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
Responsibilities
- Procurement & Contract Management: Manage end-to-end procurement activities for consultants, contractors, and vendors in line with project needs.
- Coordinate tendering, evaluation, and contract award processes in collaboration with QS and project teams.
- Support cost control by ensuring awarded contracts align with approved budgets and commercial terms.
- Manage contracts and purchase orders, ensuring clarity of scope, pricing, and deliverables.
Process Setup & Improvement
- Assist in establishing basic procurement procedures, templates, and workflows suitable for the Company’s current scale.
- Recommend practical improvements to procurement processes as projects progress.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for audit and reference purposes.
- Liaise with consultants, suppliers, and outsourced main contractors on procurement-related matters.
- Monitor vendor performance from a contract and compliance perspective.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (Project, Finance) to support smooth project delivery.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure procurement activities follow management approvals and basic governance controls.
- Flag commercial risks, contract issues, or non-compliance for management attention.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of procurement, purchasing, or contracts experience within property development or construction.
- Hands-on experience in tendering, contract documentation, and vendor or contractor negotiation.
- Experience working in environments with limited SOPs or evolving processes.
- Able to work independently, take ownership, and support a newly created role.
- Good coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Good to Have / Added Advantage
- Experience in setting up or improving procurement processes, templates, or workflows.
- Exposure to projects with outsourced main contractors or Project Management Consultant (PMC) structures.
- Familiarity with basic construction contract documents (e.g. LOA, PO, contract terms and conditions).
- Experience supporting multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to communicate in Chinese is an added advantage.
