Job description

To lead the procurement of hostel accommodations across Malaysia, ensuring they meet company standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and securing suitable properties through effective market research, site inspections, negotiation, and landlord/vendor management.

Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & Market Research
  • Conduct daily market research and field visits to identify potential hostel properties across Malaysia.
  • Explore online platforms, property listings, and local networks for suitable accommodations.
Evaluation & Compliance
  • Conduct site inspections to assess cleanliness, safety, condition, and readiness of properties.
  • Ensure properties meet company standards, client requirements, and government regulations (e.g., Akta 446).
Procurement & Negotiation
  • Liaise and negotiate with landlords, property owners, and agents to secure competitive rental terms.
  • Coordinate tenancy agreements with legal and admin teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, agents, and other stakeholders.
  • Address and resolve concerns raised by property owners.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on sourcing and procurement activities.
Handover & Setup Coordination
  • Oversee property handovers, utility arrangements, and setup for move-in readiness.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth transition and occupancy.
Requirements
  • Minimum SPM qualification or higher.
  • Possess own transport.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in procurement, property, or a related field.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage, as the role involves liaising with Mandarin‑speaking external vendors.
