Job Purpose
You are responsible for managing procurement activities, ensuring cost-effective purchasing, and maintaining strong supplier relationships within the railway industry. The role involves sourcing materials, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and project requirements. A background in Quantity Surveying is essential to support cost estimation and contract-related procurement decisions.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in procurement or contract management are an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 and above of procurement experience, preferably in the railway, construction, or infrastructure industry.
- Experience in tendering, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
- Familiarity with cost estimation, bill of quantities (BOQ), and contract terms.
- Knowledge of railway industry standards and procurement regulations is an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing, and manage contract terms.
- Review and analyze supplier quotations against BOQs and project specifications.
- Support contract management, including variation orders and claims.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain a strong vendor database.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
- Assist in cost estimation and budget planning for procurement activities.
- Ensure procurement aligns with project cost control measures.
- Ensure procurement processes adhere to industry regulations and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks, including supplier reliability and cost fluctuations.
- Manage documentation related to procurement contracts and supplier agreements.
- Assist in internal audits and reporting related to procurement.
- Support tender preparation and bid evaluations.
- Liaise with finance, project, and legal teams on procurement-related matters.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
