A leading electronics manufacturing firm in Penang seeks a Quality Engineer to audit production processes, prepare audit reports, and handle quality incidents. Candidates should possess a relevant engineering degree and ideally 3-5 years of Quality Engineering experience, although fresh graduates may apply. Essential skills include familiarity with PCB-related quality management systems and proficiency in quality tools like SPC and FMEA.
Audit and supervise production, repair, maintenance, setup, process environmental control activities, and SPC implementation to ensure compliance with work instructions.
Prepare process audit checklists and daily audit reports; issue Corrective Action Requests (CAR) based on audit findings and drive improvement actions.
Participate in root cause investigations of quality incidents (e.g. customer complaints, major scrap cases) and propose corrective actions.
Participate in quality system audits for raw material suppliers; support validation of new materials, new equipment, and new process trials, including DoE activities with relevant departments.
Participate in meetings related to process abnormalities, customer complaints, and quality incidents, perform root cause analysis, and provide corrective action recommendations.
Determine the affected scope of defective products and enforce disposition actions such as On‑Hold, Scrap, Rework, or UAI, and provide recommendations on product recall when necessary.
Initiate production line or equipment stoppage for conditions with significant quality risks.
Assist management in conducting quality meetings, and follow up on and monitor the effectiveness of quality improvement actions.
Education, Qualification Requirements:
Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials, Chemical), or Quality / Industrial Engineering–related field).
Diploma holders may be considered if they have:
(i) 3–5 years of relevant Quality Engineering experience
(ii) Strong hands‑on exposure (process audit, SPC, 8D, FMEA, customer complaint handling, etc.)
Working Experience Requirements:
1–3 years of relevant Quality Engineering experience is preferred; fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Professional knowledge or hands‑on experience in PCB manufacturing or upstream/downstream PCB‑related industries.
Experience in process floor audits, including tracking non‑conformities and driving corrective actions to closure.
Skills And Knowledge Requirements (If Any):
Knowledge of PCB‑related Quality Management Systems and familiarity with IPC standards.
Proficient in Quality Management tools and able to apply them effectively for process improvement.
Strong ability to respond quickly and handle major unexpected quality issues.
Familiar with 8D, SPC, FMEA, and other related quality methodologies.
