Job summary

A leading medical technology company in Kamunting, Malaysia is seeking an Operations Manager to enhance operational efficiency and quality in manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Polymer Science or related field and at least 4-5 years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include coordinating projects, ensuring safety compliance, and driving quality improvements. This role offers a strategic position in a growing company dedicated to improving healthcare.

  • Verify and approve qualification documentation.
  • Mentor and coach process engineers.
  • Draft PEA for automation funding.
  • Identify opportunities to improve methodologies.
  • Lead projects involving product transfers and material changes.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Improve operation cost of existing operation by means of quality improvement of productivity and efficiency improvement.
  • Undertake qualification / validation of new process, initiate via new / improved product or productivity improvement.
  • Coordinating project by interface between development and operation.
  • Support failure / complaint / CAPA investigation and recommend its solution.
  • Perform process monitoring and recommend / initiate action whenever necessary inclusive any assigned task by superior.
  • Liaising with vendor and supplier to further improve or enhance jig and fixture for process stability.
  • To initiate any technology improvement in meeting the efficiency, productivity and quality requirements.
  • Ensure safety / regulatory compliance in all process and undertake it requirements improvement and maintenance.
  • To verify and approve documentation such as Operation Qualification (OQ) and Performance Qualification (PQ).
  • Mentoring and coaching process engineer on process aspects.
  • Able to draft PEA to fund for the automation / machine refurbishment project through CAPEX funding processes.
  • Track and identifies new opportunity to improve existing methodology in the organization.
  • Lead and coordinates projects that may involves product transfer from overseas, new process introduction, process re‑engineering, material sourcing and material change validation.
Qualification

Education / Experience Requirements: Degree in Polymer Science or related Engineering field or Industrial Chemistry.

Computer knowledge will be an added advantage.

Experience: Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in a managerial level for manufacturing environment, preferably in medical manufacturing environment.
