Job Summary

Continuously improve process technology knowledge and develop competitive budget and firm proposals that provide differentiation where possible for water and wastewater projects to enable growth for Gradiant in all targeted markets. Undertake detailed process engineering for awarded projects to support the project execution teams and deliver profitable projects. Provide process support to optimize and troubleshoot operating plants when required which will ensure lowest lifecycle costs and provide feedback for improvements in design.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop cost effective and innovative water/wastewater treatment process design that meet client design basis and requirements.
  • Develop PFD, GA, P&ID, interface drawings and any other materials relevant to proposals submission.
  • Develop project costing through lifecycle of the project and submit to business development for pricing.
  • Develop technical and commercial proposals by working with internal teams (BD, engineering, operations, HSEQ), as required.
  • Prepare and deliver client proposals on time and with the highest work quality.
  • Participate in vendor evaluation and risk assessment process.
  • Participate and present in customer meetings and design reviews if required (Bid Clarifications, HAZID/HAZOP studies).
  • Prepare detail process engineering deliverables (e.g.: design basis, process design calculations, PFD, P&IDs, HMB, equipment lists, control philosophy, datasheets, commissioning and performance testing plans/procedures, O&M manuals) and work with project and engineering team closely to assist them after the award of project.
  • Review outputs by other Senior Process Engineers and less experienced Process Engineers.
  • Mentor less experienced Process Engineers when required.
  • Support commissioning / site project related activities where and when required.
  • Provide process support for O&M contracts including optimization and troubleshooting when required.
  • Support bench testing and pilot trials when required
  • Maintain good communication with all stakeholders and provide visibility on direction and results.
  • Continuous learn and improve knowledge on process technologies and designs.

Perform at least one project per year that improves effectiveness and efficiency of generating proposals or undertaking detailed process engineering.

Qualification, Skills & Experience
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree/Post Degree in Engineering: Chemical or Environmental is preferred.
  • 5 years experience in water/wastewater treatment process engineering required.
  • Practical experience with commissioning or O&M of water/wastewater treatment plants is desirable.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation and automation is desirable.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office: Word and Excel, as well as the use of VBA.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, interpersonal/communication skills, writing and problem‑solving capacities.
  • Reliable, well‑organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent teamwork.
