A manufacturing company in Sungai Petani is seeking a Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes for cable harness production. The role involves troubleshooting production issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Strong analytical skills and familiarity with manufacturing methodologies are essential.
The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes for cable harness production. This role plays a key part in improving process capability, efficiency, and product quality through the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. Depending on experience level, responsibilities may range from learning and supporting daily process activities to leading improvements, automation, and cross-functional projects. The Process Engineer will also support New Product Introduction (NPI), production ramp-up, and equipment/tooling setup/preventive maintenance to ensure operational excellence.
Design and implement efficient process flows, standard work instructions, and visual guides for cable harness assembly.
Support NPI, First Article (FA), and Mass Production (MP) by establishing process parameters, production lines, tooling, and jigs/fixtures.
Troubleshoot daily manufacturing issues related to processes, tools, fixtures, and equipment.
Perform time studies, maintain accurate product cycle times, update master data, and ensure process cost control.
Collaborate with Quality and Maintenance teams to reduce defects, improve equipment uptime, and implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Support process validation and qualification for new product transfers and ensure compliance with technical and quality specifications.
Maintain accurate process documentation and provide technical support to production teams.
Document all tooling, jigs/fixtures in Master record in SharePoint.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager or management team.
