Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Malaysia is seeking a Process Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and 3–5 years of experience in industrial projects, particularly in oleochemicals. Responsibilities include preparing design documents, performing detailed engineering tasks, and working closely with the AEI team. Strong communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English are essential, and proficiency in AutoCAD is required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in oleochemicals or related industrial fields is advantageous.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English; Mandarin is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and solutions-driven.

  • Prepare the initial Basis of Design with input from business stakeholders.
  • Perform detailed engineering: layout design, technical specs, tender documents.
  • Conduct technical evaluations and provide engineering recommendations.

Join our growing engineering team and help shape the future of sustainable industrial manufacturing. We’re looking for a Process Engineer with a strong foundation in chemical engineering and plant design, who can contribute to the successful execution of engineering projects from concept to commissioning.

What You’ll Do
  • Prepare the initial Basis of Design with input from business stakeholders
  • Perform detailed engineering: layout design, technical specs, tender documents
  • Conduct technical evaluations and provide engineering recommendations
  • Provide technical support and clarification during detail engineering, construction, and commissioning
  • Collaborate with the AEI (Automation, Electrical & Instrumentation) team on control philosophy and design specifications
  • Perform process design and calculations for new applications and equipment
  • Supervise draughtsman on engineering drawings
  • Support strategy planning, budgeting, and cost estimation
  • Handle other responsibilities as assigned by the superior
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of experience in oleochemicals or related industrial fields (advantageous)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English (Mandarin is a plus)
  • Willingness to travel overseas for project-related activities
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and solutions-driven
