Job summary

Becton Dickinson in Kedah, Kulim site seeks an engineer focused on process capability, cost reduction and continuous improvement within the manufacturing unit. You will implement and sustain BD Excellence processes and support capacity planning, with adherence to safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong problem solving, root cause analysis, and the ability to transfer knowledge to operators and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Implements and sustains BD Excellence work process for the manufacturing unit.
• Identifies critical equipment settings and creates standards.
• Transmits technical knowledge to operators and technical associates.
• Coaches associates on continuous improvement methodologies.
• Analyzes top losses and develops plans to eliminate losses and improve OEE.
• Manages change control including validation activities and root cause analysis of quality events.
• Leads troubleshooting of scrap and waste in the manufacturing unit.
• Supports transfer of process and product between lines or sites.
• Contributes to process safety improvements including risk analysis and waste reduction.
• Performs other duties to support business needs.

Job Description Summary Responsible for process capability, cost reduction and continuous improvement, project implementation within their designated manufacturing unit. Provides specific engineering work related to field of expertise with broad overlap between engineering disciplines expected. Support capacity planning and growth, as well as define budgeted rates and process documentation. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values Job Description Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Implements and sustains BD Excellence work process for the manufacturing unit.
• Identifies critical equipment setting and creation of standards.
• Creates technical knowledge for the manufacturing unit and transfers the knowledge to the operator and technical associates.
• Coaches associates on continuous improvement methodologies within the manufacturing unit.
• Understands top losses within the manufacturing unit and develops and implements plans to eliminate losses and drive OEE performance.
• Responsible for manufacturing unit change control including validation activities, root cause analysis of prioritized OEE losses, and quality events and deviations.
• Leads the team in troubleshooting the manufacturing unit related scrap and waste
• Assist implementation of the transfer of process and product
• To support the process safety improvement includes Health and Safety risk analysis, waste reduction activities in the manufacturing
• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Deliverables: Ensures safety of all associates and quality of product. Ensures new manufacturing processes and process improvements meet Manufacturing Unit objectives. Ensures equipment is running efficiently and effectively. Analyzes current state of equipment efficiency to drive OEE improvement and sustainability.
