Job summary

A leading automotive manufacturing company in Kulai seeks an experienced engineer to participate in product design reviews and optimize manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 3 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include coordinating with tooling suppliers and improving process efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams on exciting product launches.

Job description

SHB Malaysia Automotive Appliance Sdn Bhd – Kulai, Johor

Responsibilities
  • Participate in new product design reviews to evaluate manufacturing feasibility across multiple forming processes (injection molding, stamping, die-casting, machining) and propose design improvements.
  • Develop and optimize process flow, parameters, tooling, and equipment requirements; verify through simulation tools.
  • Coordinate with tooling suppliers for die/mold design, trial runs, issue analysis, and correction verification.
  • Troubleshoot production issues (e.g., deformation, burrs, cracks, dimensional deviation) and implement parameter adjustments to stabilize mass production.
  • Continuously improve process efficiency, material utilization, and product quality through data analysis and technical optimization.
  • Prepare and update process documents (work instructions, parameter sheets, tooling guides) and promote process standardization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Production, Quality, and Procurement teams to solve technical and quality issues and ensure smooth product launch.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Forming & Control, Polymer/Plastic Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in any of the following: injection molding, stamping, die-casting, or machining process engineering (automotive, home appliances, or related industries).
  • Familiar with process simulation and analysis software and capable of process parameter design and validation.
  • Strong problem-solving, cost control, and process optimization abilities.
