Job summary

Bosch Malaysia is seeking a Process and Equipment Engineer (Acceleration Sensors) to maintain production equipment, calibrate systems, and troubleshoot downtime. The role requires repair of measurement boards and PCBs, and coordination with suppliers.

You will align equipment per supplier specs, work with engineering to reduce failures and costs, and contribute to a fast-growing semiconductor environment in Penang.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Willingness to work in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Able to analyze and repair PCBs and equipment.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Capable of technical discussions with suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance according to the maintenance plan on machines and calibration.
  • Investigate downtime and carry out mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs.
  • Identify and repair faults on measurement boards and PCBs.
  • Align equipment mechanically and electrically per supplier specifications.
  • Autonomous adaptation and extension of circuit diagrams according to engineering specification.
  • Serve as the primary contact for scheduling and addressing equipment supplier inquiries.

Process and Equipment Engineer (Acceleration Sensors)

Bosch has been present in Malaysia since 1923, represented by Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. In Malaysia, Bosch is active in four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and soon a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors. In 2020, Bosch Malaysia generated consolidated sales of RM 518.4 million (108.1 million euros), and currently employs more than 4,000 associates.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production to commence in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Job Description
  • Perform maintenance according to maintenance plan on machine and calibration.
  • Investigate equipment downtime, carry out comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs, and certify equipment readiness according to engineering specifications.
  • Identify and repair faults on measurement boards and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).
  • Align equipment mechanically and electrically in accordance with supplier specifications.
  • Autonomous adaption and extension of circuit diagrams according to engineering specification
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for scheduling and addressing equipment supplier inquiries, including deadline monitoring and technical discussions.
  • Collaborate with engineering to develop strategies for reducing failures, enhancing quality and output, and lowering costs.
  • Analyze carrier failures, perform necessary repairs, and conduct carrier maintenance.
  • Placing into operation of carriers according to specification.
  • Ensure all modifications are approved and aligned with lead plant engineering.
  • 8D responsibility and hold lots dispose.
  • Instruction of Operators in alignment with production Mgmt.
  • Perform duties within the production environment.
  • Support FMEA and Control Plan.
  • Guarantee the availability of necessary spare parts.
  • Execute any other related duties assigned by immediate supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor's DegreeinEngineering (Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, etc.)
  • Passionate individuals at all career stages – from enthusiastic fresh graduates to experienced seniors.
  • Able to perform analysis, repairs on PCB, equipment.
  • Able to work in a team for transferring technical known how.
  • Able to perform technical discussion together with equipment supplier and engineering.
