Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of procedures and tools obtained through work experience or technical education.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Proficiency in using measuring equipment and documenting results.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and time management.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conducts visual and measurement inspections on incoming and in-process materials.
• Confirms quality and specifications, communicates adjustments, and rejects any unacceptable materials.
• Reads blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand product requirements.
• Measures product dimensions, examines functionality, and compares to specifications.
• Approves finished products by confirming specifications and conducting tests.
• Documents and updates inspection results by completing reports and logs.
• Ensures measurement equipment is calibrated and maintained.
• Looks for opportunities to adjust and improve production processes and procedures.
• Informs supervisor when quality issues arise; assists with audits and compliance projects.
