Responsibilities
- Use CAM software for grinding path generation.
- Perform automatic wheel dressing cycles via CNC code.
- Manage multi-pass roughing and finishing cycles via CAM.
- Integrate CAM with digital twin simulations for complex tool paths.
- Sync tool wear compensation with CAM software feedback.
- Use CMM machines to verify ground features against CAD models.
- Match CAD part revisions with grinding program versioning.
- Create CAD drawings of ground components for inspection referencing.
- Customize CNC control parameters for material-specific performance.
- Align CMM coordinate systems with grinding fixture orientations.
- Adjust tool offsets to compensate for thermal drift during CNC grinding.
- Operate surface grinding machines to achieve ultra-fine finishes.
- Set up and execute profile grinding for complex contours on mould inserts.
- Establish preventive maintenance for grinders and CMMs.
- Interpret complex CAD models of mould components for grinding preparation.
- Import and align CAD data into CAM software for path generation.
- Analyze CAD files to extract critical tolerances and features.
- Modify CAD geometry for grinding stock and allowances.
- Utilize CAD software to simulate fits.
- Create jig and fixture designs using CAD for grinding operations.
- Generate exploded CAD views for better visualization of grinding access.
- Overlay CAD with actual CMM scan data for deviation analysis.
- Create section views in CAD to verify grinding clearance.
- Export CAD geometry to CAM with tolerances embedded.
- Use CAD to design spark-out clearance zones.
- Model grinding tool paths onto CAD geometry for visual approval.
- Apply color mapping in CAD to visualize grinding depths.
- Import CAD assemblies for full tooling context during grinding setup.
- Use CAD to define datum references and grinding datum shifts.
- Simulate grinding passes in CAM to verify safety and accuracy.
- Post-process CAM files into CNC-compatible formats.
- Apply tool wear offsets and compensation strategies in CAM.
- Lead the design and conceptualization of high-precision injection moulds, die-casting, and stamping moulds.
- Create design layouts for mould components, including cavity and core designs.
- Develop and analyze the cooling system of mould designs.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Precision Grinding Machine
- Proficient in operating CNC grinding machines
- Skilled in use of CAM software
- Advanced knowledge of surface grinding processes
- Troubleshooting CNC program errors
- Fixturing design and alignment for precision consistency
