Job summary

A leading digital economy organization in Cyberjaya is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to assist in daily security operations and enhance digital security. The internship focuses on monitoring systems, incident response, and cybersecurity awareness. Ideal candidates are pursuing relevant degrees and possess analytical skills. A minimum commitment of 4 months is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Cybersecurity, Network Security, IT Networking, Computer Science, or similar.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewall, routing).
  • Familiarity with SOC or IT admin tasks is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring network and cloud security events.
  • Support pentesting, vulnerability assessments & patch tracking.
  • Help support, configure and attend BYOD initiative.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to support daily security operations and assist in protecting our digital environment. The intern will work closely with the IT Department's Cybersecurity and Infra team to monitor systems, involve in cyber security initiative, and help improve security controls.

Job Descriptions
  • Assist in monitoring network and cloud security events
  • Support pentesting, vulnerability assessments & patch tracking
  • Assist in incident response activities (log collection, evidence handling, reporting)
  • Help support, configure and attend BYOD initiative
  • Conduct research on emerging threats, attack campaigns, and defensive technologies
  • Assist with security documentation (SOPs, reports, asset inventories, policies)
  • Participate in cybersecurity awareness initiatives and security audits
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Cybersecurity, Network Security, IT Networking, Computer Science, or similar
  • Basic understanding in Technical Skills (preferred):
    • Networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewall, routing)
    • Windows/Linux OS/Android and basic system hardening
    • Security fundamentals: malware, phishing, encryption, authentication, SIEM/logging
    • Analytic/forensic basic knowledge
  • Familiarity with SOC or IT admin tasks is an added advantage
  • Eager to learn and curious about cybersecurity
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Able to work in a team and follow guidance
