The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) is seeking a dedicated and analytical individual to join our team as a Policy and Research Officer. The role involves conducting policy research, managing engineering-related surveys, preparing reports and presentations, and representing IEM in meetings with external organisations and government agencies.
Conduct research and analysis on engineering-related policies, regulations, and industry trends.
Plan and execute engineering surveys (e.g., employment, salary, and membership benefits surveys).
Analyse survey results qualitatively and quantitatively, and prepare reports with key findings and recommendations.
Draft policy briefs, position papers, speeches, and presentation slides for the IEM President and Council.
Represent IEM as an Outside Body Representative (OBR) at meetings with government agencies and industry associations, and prepare post‑meeting reports.
Draft press statements and assist in media communications.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Public Policy, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
Strong analytical, writing, and research skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with data analysis tools is an advantage.
Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken).
